Dark Crystal Malt from Fawcett – weighed out

Dark Crystal Malt from Thomas Fawcett is a very dark, amber-coloured crystal malt with distinct notes of dark and burnt toffee. It adds depth, colour and a rich, complex malt character to the beer.

Application and dosage

This malt is particularly well suited to strong ales and stouts, as well as other dark, malty beer styles. Thomas Fawcett recommends using up to 10 % of the total malt quantity.

• Colour: 250–300 EBC
• Taste: distinctly dark and burnt toffee
• Colour in the beer dark amber to ruby red
• Typical use: up to 10 % of the malt mixture
• Suitable for: strong ales, stouts and other dark beers
