European hop varieties with different characteristics
Continental hop varieties range from classic varieties with spicy, herbal and floral notes to newer varieties with more fruit-driven aromas. The variety, alpha acid percentage, quantity and addition time determine the hop's contribution to the finished beer.
Blade or pellets
Pellets are compact and easy to dose, whereas whole-leaf hops consist of whole dried hop cones. Not all varieties are available in both forms, so choose based on the recipe, brewing equipment and desired filtration.
