Spices, sugars and oak
Spices such as coriander, orange peel, aniseed, juniper berries and liquorice can add various aromas to the beer. Oak chips are used for an oak character, while candi sugar, dextrose, lactose, maltodextrin and spray malt, amongst others, affect fermentation, taste, sweetness or mouthfeel in different ways.
Additives for the brewing process and clarification
The category also includes products for yeast nutrition, fining, enzyme treatment, and lighter filtration during mashing, amongst other things. Only use the product for the stated purpose, and measure it according to the manufacturer's dosage instructions.
When should the additive be used?
