Black Malt from Thomas Fawcett – 25 kg

Black Malt from Thomas Fawcett is a very dark, roasted barley malt with a powerful and dry roasted character, burnt coffee notes and a great colouring effect. The colour is stated as 1200–1400 EBC for this item.

The malt is used as a special malt in, among others, bitter, mild, stout and strong porter. Thomas Fawcett also highlights robust porter, imperial stout and black IPA. The flavour is pronounced, so the quantity should be adapted to the beer style and recipe.

Dosage

Thomas Fawcett typically recommends 3–5 % of the malt blend. A smaller quantity can also be used when the main aim is to darken the colour of the beer.
