Wheat malt

Wheat malt for brewing beer

Wheat malt contributes a soft grain character, body and good head retention. It is central to classic wheat beers, but can also be used in smaller quantities in, amongst other things, saison, IPA and other beers where a more persistent head and a rounder mouthfeel are desired.

Light, dark and specially roasted wheat malt

Light wheat malt is suitable for fresh and pale wheat beers, while darker variants provide more colour and a fuller bread and malt character. Chocolate and smoked wheat malt can be used as speciality malts when the beer requires a more pronounced profile.

Wheat malt is often combined with barley base malt. See also unmalted grain for further adjustment of body and foam.
