The bag is equipped with an external pocket for the original hand pump. When it's time for serving, the bag can be unzipped at the top, allowing the hand pump to be fitted while the rest of the bag continues to enclose the keg. This way, the insulation is best preserved during serving.
As the EcoreKeg system keeps the propellant gas completely separate from the beverage, CO₂, compressed air, nitrogen or other suitable propellant gases can be used without coming into contact with the contents. This helps to preserve taste, aroma and any carbonation throughout the serving.
