Measure the specific gravity during fermentation

Measuring specific gravity can be used to compare values before, during and after fermentation. Always use the instrument's scale and instructions, and pay attention to, amongst other things, the sample's temperature and the required sample volume.

Hydrometer, refractometer or iSpindel

A hydrometer, also known as a density meter, is read in a liquid sample. A refractometer uses a smaller sample and is read according to the instrument's scale. An iSpindel is an electronic solution for continuous measurements. The choice depends on the measurement task and the desired workflow.

Measuring cylinders, jugs and equipment for samples

Measuring cylinders and measuring jugs are used for measuring and handling liquids, while pipettes and syringes make it possible to extract or dispense smaller quantities. Choose the size, material and graduation according to the application, and follow the product's instructions for cleaning and use.
