Weyermann Abbey Malt – weighed as required
Abbey Malt is a Belgian-inspired specialty malt that gives the beer more body, a copper-golden glow and a complex malt character. Weyermann describes the aroma with distinct notes of biscuits, honey, nuts and chocolate.
Suitable for Belgian and full-bodied beers
The malt is particularly well suited for Belgian Pale Ale, Belgian Blond Ale, Saison, Trappist Single, Belgian IPA, Bière de Garde, Belgian Dubbel, strong Belgian ales, Barley Wine and sour beers such as Flanders Red Ale and Oud Bruin.

Weyermann recommends up to 50 % of the malt blend. Enzyme activity is low, so Abbey Malt should normally be combined with a base malt that is rich in enzymes.
