Rye Malt from Fawcett – full sack of 25 kg

Fawcett Rye Malt is malted rye with a pale colour of 6–10 EBC. It gives the beer a distinct, spicy and slightly grainy rye character as well as a fuller mouthfeel. It is suitable for rye beers and as a character malt in, amongst others, saison, ale, porter and other speciality beers.

Application and mashing

A smaller proportion gives a discreet spicy touch, while a larger proportion makes the rye character more pronounced. Rye has no husks and can make the mash more compact and viscous. Therefore, normally combine with barley malt, and consider rice hulls at a high proportion of rye.
