Roasted Barley from Fawcett – weighed out
Roasted Barley from Thomas Fawcett is unmalted barley, which is roasted to the same dark roast level as Black Malt. It imparts a very dark colour, a strong roasted character and a distinctly dry and bitter finish.
Compared to Black Malt, Roasted Barley normally gives a more prominent dryness and bitterness. This makes it particularly well-suited for classic stouts and Irish-style beers.
How to use
Roasted Barley is used as a dark specialty malt in stout and can also be included in porter, bitter, mild and other dark beers, when a powerful roast and a dry finish are desired. Adjust the amount according to the desired intensity.
